Mission


(a) - To foster the cultural, social and economic development of the Maori people of Aotearoa New Zealand, through the establishment, maintenance and promotion of friendship, sharing and mutually beneficial relationships with the people of the People's Republic Of China by:

i - Providing network infrastructure, which will facilitate friendship and cooperation initiatives between Maori people and the peoples of The Peoples Republic of China

- Promoting the exchange of visits between Mäori and Chinese people in order to develop a greater awareness and learning through sharing of information to develop and enhance education in general

iii - Supporting cultural, social and economic development projects and programmes between Maori and Chinese peoples

(b) - To retain, practise and promote the values of friendship including aroha-love, tiaki-benevolence, manaakitanga-caring for others and whanautanga-fellowship.

(c) - To pay out of the income of the Trust fund or the capital of the Trust Fund, in such proportions as the trustees shall in their absolute discretion decide, the administration expenses of the Trust. This shall include the reasonable administration expenses of the Board and reimbursement to members of any actual disbursements and out of pocket expenses incurred by them while acting in furtherance of the Trust's business.

(d) - To expend or apply any income earnt from granted monies, contracts for services or howsoever derived that will directly or indirectly advance the specific objects of the Trust.

(e) - To accumulate any income accruing as an accretion to the Trust fund and set aside from the Trust Fund reserves to support friendship initiatives that the trustees may in their absolute discretion think fit.
